Biography
Jacob Weld focuses his practice on government liability defense, including the defense of civil rights claims under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 and state law torts. Jacob works with other attorneys in the firm to counsel and defend government agencies, and, particularly, first responders, in high-stakes, complex litigation.
Prior to joining Wieneke Law Group, Jacob clerked for the Honorable Susan M. Brnovich at the United States District Court for the District of Arizona, where he conducted legal research on the merits of pending cases, summarized the parties’ positions, and prepared draft orders and opinions on various matters pending before the Court.
Jacob has been active in advocacy and debate since his undergraduate days, culminating with his membership on the Moot Court Board and in the Trial Advocacy Association at George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School, where he also graduated fifth in his class. He was a quarter-finalist in the 2020 Spong Moot Court Tournament at William & Mary Law School, and a semifinalist in the 2018 Thatcher Intramural Trial Advocacy Competition.
