Biography
Brendan Porter brings strong public speaking, argumentation, and research skills to the Wieneke Law Group, where he works with other attorneys in the firm to counsel and defend government agencies and public entities in a variety of complex matters. Brendan focuses his practice on government liability defense, including the defense of civil rights claims under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, road design claims, and other state law torts.
Prior to joining Wieneke Law Group, Brendan clerked for the Honorable Michael T. Morrissey at the United States District Court for the District of Arizona, where he prepared orders resolving discovery disputes, report and recommendations for habeas cases and dispositive motions, and resolved other miscellaneous pretrial motions. Before that, he was an Attorney-Advisor for the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission in Washington, D.C., where he prepared decisions interpreting provisions of the Federal Mine Safety & Health Act of 1977 and associated regulations, and prepared training presentations regarding safety issues in the mining community.
While a proud University of Virginia Law School graduate, Brendan has returned to his home state to practice law.
